KREAM, famous for trading limited-edition sneakers, is now making a splash in the 'refurbished IT device' market. Since the service launch in July 2024, KREAM's refurbished category has recorded explosive growth, rapidly emerging as a new flagship business.
Data proves this. In Q1 2025, transaction volume surged by an impressive 63% compared to the previous quarter (Q4 2024), and the monthly average Net Merchandise Value (NMV) more than doubled during the same period. Particularly noteworthy is that in just three months of Q1 2025, the company achieved performance equivalent to the cumulative transaction value of the first six months after the service launch.
KREAM's refurbished service has increased reliability by moving beyond the uncertainties of C2C (Consumer-to-Consumer) transactions and adopting a B2C (Business-to-Consumer) model that carefully selects and sells used IT devices with no private repair history. Targeting major products such as smartphones, tablets, and laptops, devices are put through rigorous functional tests, complete personal data erasure, and guaranteed free exchanges. These inspected devices, categorized into S, A, and B grades, are then offered at reasonable prices, alleviating consumer concerns. Currently, vendors handling Apple and Samsung brand tech products have entered the platform.
Starting with smartphones in the early stages, the service has rapidly expanded its product range to include tablets, laptops, and smartwatches. These product categories, in particular, are demonstrating strong demand, surpassing smartphones with a monthly average inventory depletion rate exceeding 90%. In line with this trend, KREAM plans to further expand consumer choice by onboarding a wider variety of IT device brands within the first half of 2025.
Alongside this, the 'My Phone Market Price' service for selling owned devices is also key to expanding the user experience in the tech sector. It guides users on estimated selling prices based on the condition of their smartphones and tablets and maximizes transaction convenience by providing one-stop support for all processes from registration to sale and settlement. Following an upward adjustment of purchase prices through a service revamp in April 2025, the company plans to further solidify its position in overall tech device distribution by expanding the range of purchasable items to include laptops, smartwatches, and more in the future.
A KREAM official stated, "We are expanding the user experience by encompassing various daily consumptions, from fashion to tech," and expressed ambitions to "continue building a highly reliable environment where consumers can securely trade IT devices." KREAM is creating an innovative distribution ecosystem where IT devices can be bought and sold with confidence, going beyond being a mere used-goods trading platform.
