COMEUP 2025, opening new horizons for the global startup ecosystem! 'COMEUP 2025,' heralding a major transformation in the global startup ecosystem, has officially begun its journey! On June 12th, the advisory committee kickoff meeting for the successful hosting of 'COMEUP 2025,' which will take place for three days from December 10th to 12th at COEX, Gangnam, Seoul, was successfully held at Maru180, Gangnam, Seoul. This year's event is co-hosted by three organizations: Korea Startup Forum, Korea Venture Business Association, and Korea Venture Capital Association, promising stronger synergy than ever before. During the advisory committee kickoff, last year's achievements were shared, and more evolved operational plans and innovative program composition directions were deeply discussed. 'COMEUP 2025' aims to leap beyond a mere event, aspiring to become a 'Global Platform (Global Nexus)' – a core hub for the global startup ecosystem. It plans to further expand its global cooperation system and focus on driving real investment and business collaboration. Especially this year, with key players of the ecosystem participating as co-hosts, the event aims to significantly increase the participation of domestic and international ventures and startups, and further strengthen its global influence. Through a broad global linkage strategy encompassing not only Asia, North America, and Europe but also emerging markets such as Africa, India, and South America, the event will pursue segmented, customized strategies tailored to the unique characteristics and investment demands of each region. The scope of invitees will expand beyond startups and investors to include governments, support organizations, global corporations, and large and medium-sized venture companies from various countries, thereby establishing a truly international platform for networking and business cooperation. To ensure the success of this event, a powerful advisory committee comprising 46 members, chaired by Han Sang-woo, Chairman of the Korea Startup Forum, has been launched. These members will operate in specialized subcommittees covering various expert fields such as conference, startups, investment, open innovation (OI), and public relations, thereby adding depth and expertise to the event. Key figures representing the domestic and international startup ecosystem, including Ryu Jung-hee (CEO of Realworld), Son Jae-kwon (CEO of The Miilk), Lee Han-bin (CEO of Seoul Robotics), Cho Min-sik (President of Korea Angel Investment Association), Kim Kyoung-hoon (Country Director of Google Korea), Jeong Nam-yi (Executive Director of Asan Nanum Foundation), Jeong Geun-ho (CEO of STIC Ventures), Lee Jong-hoon (CEO of Xplo Investment), Jeong Sang-min (Executive Director of Coupang), Jeon Pil-kyu (Head of Creative Development Center at Samsung Electronics), and Cho Sang-rae (CEO of Platum), are participating as advisory committee members, pooling their wisdom for a successful event. Chairman Han Sang-woo emphasized, "Entrepreneurship and innovation are essential solutions for the growth and enhanced competitiveness of Korea's industries," adding, "COMEUP will firmly establish itself as a global platform that goes beyond being a mere startup event, promoting the revitalization of the startup ecosystem and the value of innovation to the world." He further expressed his ambition, stating, "This year, through expanded participation of innovative companies and strengthened investment and business linkages, we will create a turning point for a new leap forward in the domestic startup ecosystem."
