The recommerce platform 'Charan,' which is bringing a fresh breeze to the used fashion market, is attracting industry attention by recording explosive growth. Last year, over 270,000 used fashion items were traded, setting an astonishing record of one item sold every two minutes on average. This is an even more significant achievement considering the unique nature of one-of-a-kind used items. Since its launch in August 2023, it has rapidly established itself in the market, achieving 570,000 cumulative users and 1.11 million app downloads in just 1 year and 5 months. Notably, transaction volume in Q4 2024 surged by a remarkable 9 times compared to the same period last year, and over 500,000 new subscribers were acquired last year alone. Charan's core lies in its one-stop solution that handles every step from collection, quality inspection, productization, sales, to delivery, once a seller applies through the app. At its 1,250-pyeong logistics center located in Namyangju, incoming items undergo thorough inspection, sterilization, and productization before being delivered to buyers. Behind this growth were continuous efforts to advance its services. In September last year, it launched the 'Outlet Hall' where brand-overstock items can be purchased at a discount, and in October, it revolutionized the buying experience by providing actual wear images with 'AI Model Cut' utilizing AI technology. In December, it expanded accessory categories such as bags, hats, and scarves, increasing product diversity. Charan's unique competitive edge stems from the combination of its systematic logistics system and advanced AI technology. Items entering the logistics center are precisely inspected, assigned a grade, and receive individual QR codes after undergoing sterilization and scenting processes. This enables real-time tracking, leading to efficient, data-driven inventory management. AI also shines in the product registration process. From studio-shot images, AI automatically extracts and registers key information such as color, material, and size, and it assists sellers in reasonable transactions by suggesting appropriate selling prices based on a comprehensive consideration of item condition, market price, and brand value. Kim Hye-sung, CEO of Myneis, emphasized, "Charan's growth is due to building trust that high-quality items can be traded with peace of mind even in the used market," adding, "We will continue to set new standards for the used fashion market through our systematic system and technological capabilities."
