Bellavel Farm, a company incubated by the Jeju Center for Creative Economy & Innovation, has successfully established itself in the Taiwanese market, signing an exclusive export contract worth approximately $300,000, thereby elevating the global status of K-pet food. Bellavel Farm opened the door to overseas markets with its high-quality, additive-free pet food through 'From Halla,' a pet healthcare brand based on clean Jeju ingredients.
Starting with its participation in a Taiwanese pet exhibition in May last year, local consumers' requests for repurchase of From Halla products surged through social media and email. The subsequent direct visits to Jeju by over 20 Taiwanese distributors demonstrated significant interest, and Bellavel Farm ultimately finalized an exclusive contract with Global Fortune Corporation, which possesses global logistics competitiveness and a Taiwanese market network.
Taiwan is considered one of the fastest-growing pet markets in Asia. The market size, which exceeded approximately $1.2 billion in 2023, is projected to grow at an average annual rate of 7.3% until 2027, driven by the spread of "pet-family" culture, and demand for premium pet food is rapidly increasing. This market trend presents an excellent opportunity for Bellavel Farm.
Bellavel Farm has been accelerating its global expansion, starting with an export contract to Thailand last year. In 2024, it strengthened its leadership by recruiting executives from the UK, Australia, and the US, and this year, it significantly enhanced its overseas business capabilities, including market analysis and buyer negotiations, by hiring local talent in Taiwan and Japan. It also plans to expand marketing investments with the goal of extending beyond major Asian countries to Europe and North America.
Moon Hyun-ah, CEO of Bellavel Farm, stated her ambition, saying, "This is a meaningful achievement, as we've independently managed every step from market pioneering to contract finalization," and added, "As a pet brand embodying our ancestors' philosophy of preventive medicine, we will prove our value in the global market." Bellavel Farm, which has grown with the support of the Jeju Center for Creative Economy & Innovation, is a biotech company developing differentiated pet healthcare products through research into Hallasan medicinal herbs and natural substances, and is gathering expectations as a new key player in the global K-pet food market.
