Banp Wins CES 2026 Innovation Award for 'BANF TireSafe' Intelligent Tire
A technology poised to elevate the safety of autonomous vehicles, a cornerstone of future mobility, shined at CES 2026. Smart tire technology startup BANF achieved a remarkable feat by winning a CES 2026 Innovation Award in the Vehicle Tech & Advanced Mobility category for its intelligent tire system, ‘BANF TireSafe’. This marks BANF’s second Innovation Award at CES, once again proving its technological prowess on the global stage. In the reality of roads where countless accidents occur annually due to tire failures, BANF TireSafe is drawing attention as an innovation designed to address a critical vulnerability in autonomous vehicles. This system detects tire blowouts (sudden ruptures) and slow leaks (gradual air loss) in real-time, ensuring the stable operation of autonomous vehicles. At the core of BANF TireSafe is the ‘iSensor’ mounted on the tire. This sensor utilizes a 3-axis accelerometer to sample vast amounts of data up to 4,000 times per second, operating on stable power supplied wirelessly to the rotating tire via a smart profiler. The collected data undergoes advanced AI-based analysis to precisely detect air leaks or tire blowout situations in real-time, instantly sending alerts to an integrated vehicle management dashboard to facilitate immediate response by drivers and control systems. Yoo Sung-han, CEO of BANF, articulated the company’s vision, stating, “We have introduced digital innovation to the tire industry, which had been stagnant for 120 years, commercializing a system that maximizes vehicle safety and fuel efficiency through real-time tire profile data analysis.” Winning consecutive CES Innovation Awards, following its recognition in 2024, attests to BANF's unique technological prowess and market potential. Currently, BANF is conducting pilot projects and building cooperative relationships with over 20 global tire manufacturers and logistics companies. Furthermore, having been selected for Hyundai Motor Company's Open Innovation project, BANF is collaborating closely with the finished vehicle industry, and starting this year, plans to further accelerate its global market expansion through cooperation with a U.S. autonomous truck startup.
