Korean AI Technology Combats Australia's Bushfire Disaster: Alchera's FireScout Expands Its Reach
Korean artificial intelligence technology is playing a pivotal role and gaining attention in the battle against bushfires threatening Australia's vast natural environment. Alchera, a specialized vision AI solution company, is significantly expanding the supply of its innovative early bushfire detection AI solution 'FireScout' in Australia, further strengthening its cooperation with Watchtower Networks, a company specializing in bushfire response.
Currently, FireScout is successfully operating on 11 bushfire monitoring cameras of Watchtower Networks within the Australian Capital Territory (ACT), with plans to increase that number to 50 by the end of the year, establishing an even more comprehensive bushfire monitoring network. The regions where FireScout is being deployed are New South Wales (NSW) and the ACT, which are particularly high-risk areas for bushfires. The ACT, where Australia's capital Canberra is located, is not only a hub for major administration and industry but also consists of over half its total area as nature reserves and national parks, making it constantly exposed to the threat of bushfires.
Alchera's FireScout boasts an overwhelming bushfire detection accuracy of 99% and the industry's lowest false alarm rate, proving its excellent operational performance and bushfire response effectiveness locally. This stable performance and high customer satisfaction have been the decisive factors behind the current supply expansion, and Australian government agencies are also reportedly positively discussing the further adoption of FireScout, reaffirming its technological prowess.
FireScout is an intelligent solution that precisely analyzes CCTV footage based on AI technology to detect smoke early. By rapidly identifying and warning of bushfire occurrences through real-time detection, it makes a crucial contribution to securing the 'golden time' essential for initial response. When bushfire smoke is detected, an alert is immediately sent to the control center and relevant personnel, and with just one click, the current bushfire location and fire situation can be quickly shared with the fire safety reporting center, enabling immediate fire suppression without delay.
Alchera's AI technology, which has been commercialized in Australia and California, USA since 2021 and is active on the front lines of overseas bushfire prevention, has recently seen a surge in inquiries for adoption from European regions, raising expectations for global market expansion.
Hwang Young-kyu, CEO of Alchera, stated, "FireScout has consistently shown demand in overseas markets, and domestically, we will expand our business by incorporating AI technology into indoor fire response in special buildings, such as electric vehicle fires in apartment underground parking lots." He added, "FireScout will establish itself as a core technology that can alleviate public anxiety caused by frequent fire incidents recently," conveying a strong ambition. Alchera's FireScout is contributing to creating a world safe from fires, transcending borders.
