AI Revolution in PET Bottle Recycling

Innovers, a leader in AI-based smart recycling, is accelerating the expansion of its high-quality recycling infrastructure, spearheaded by its 'SsuSaem' unmanned collection machines. The limitations of clear PET bottles, which previously struggled with high-quality recycling suitable for food containers due to issues of low-quality resources and foreign material contamination, are now being overcome by Innovers with innovative technology. 'SsuSaem' selects clear PET bottles with over 99% accuracy through AI vision technology and an automatic sorting algorithm. The collected PET bottles go directly to become high-value recycled raw materials without impurities, dramatically simplifying the recycling process and maximizing efficiency. This has positioned Innovers uniquely in a market where demand for high-purity recycled raw materials is surging due to government policies mandating over 10% use of recycled materials in water and beverage PET bottles. Recently, 16 additional machines were installed in Jung-gu, Daegu, and Gangnam-gu, with Jung-gu, Daegu, expected to collect approximately 22 tons of clear PET bottles annually with a total of 13 'SsuSaem' units. 'SsuSaem,' registered as an innovative product last year and now spreading nationwide including Seoul and Gyeonggi, processes tens of thousands of PET bottles daily and is moving towards an ambitious goal of collecting 1,000 tons annually by 2025. In particular, Innovers plans to expand installations in residential complexes in cooperation with local governments, making resource circulation more integral to daily life. 'SsuSaem' users earn points equivalent to 10 KRW per PET bottle, which can be converted into cash via the dedicated 'Return' app once 3,000 KRW or more has accumulated. Beyond point accumulation, the 'Return' app offers various interactive content, achieving over 80% user satisfaction and transforming recycling into an enjoyable experience.
