AI Pharmacy Automation: Medinode & Pillbot Unveil Integrated Solution

MediNode's AI pill classifier 'Pillbot' was successfully delivered for the first time to Soonchunhyang University Cheonan Hospital, heralding the dawn of an AI automation era in hospital pharmacy departments. Pillbot, equipped with deep learning image analysis technology, classifies over 1,000 types of pills with an accuracy of 99.99% or higher, and identifies up to 192 types of capsules, which existing equipment struggled with, all at once. The task of classifying unused pills, a chronic problem in large hospitals, has entailed excessive workload for pharmacists and the risk of misclassification. Pillbot resolves these inefficiencies, and with its customized transfer module, minimizes the drug damage rate to less than 0.0001%, thereby ensuring stability. As a result, it will provide safer and more accurate dispensing services for patients, and pharmacists will be able to move away from repetitive tasks and focus their capabilities on professional duties. Pillbot, registered as an innovative product by the Public Procurement Service, is expected to expand its supply through pilot purchase programs for public hospitals, and MediNode is actively discussing additional deliveries and pilot operations with several tertiary general hospitals.
