Visual Camp's 'Read4School' Literacy Solution Named Next-Gen World-Class Product
Visual Camp's 'ReadForSchool,' a literacy diagnosis and improvement courseware based on its artificial intelligence (AI) eye-tracking technology, achieved the remarkable feat of being selected as a 'Next-Generation World-Class Product' by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, recognizing its potential to become a world-class product within seven years. 'ReadForSchool' is an innovative program for public education that utilizes the front cameras of devices like smartphones, tablets, and laptops to track students' gazes, precisely analyze their reading patterns, and suggest personalized learning paths. It operates on a web and app basis without the need for separate hardware and is designed to be useful for both individual and group lessons. This solution ascertains the user's level using the computer-based literacy diagnostic tool 'RoCAT (Read Of Computerized Adaptive Test)' and then helps improve reading habits through personalized text recommendations and eye-gaze data-based learning feedback. The learning management system (LMS) features for teachers are also indispensable. 'ReadForSchool' boasts approximately 800 texts and 2,400 training contents tailored to elementary, middle, and high school curricula. It has currently been adopted by around 400 schools and has already proven its excellence by receiving the Minister of Science and ICT Award at the New Software Product Awards and acquiring GS Certification Grade 1 this April. Building on its domestic success, Visual Camp has begun its foray into the overseas market by supplying its solution to Oxford Edutech, a Mexican edutech company. Furthermore, it additionally developed 'ReadAI' targeting the private education market, achieving the remarkable feat of being introduced in 150 academies nationwide within just five months of its launch. Park Jae-seung, COO of Visual Camp, stated, "This selection is a result of our efforts to contribute to improving literacy in Korean education being recognized." He added, "We will continue to develop services that integrate eye-tracking technology to lead the edutech market and contribute to enhancing overall societal efficiency and safety."
