Vsion's smart film 'VEXA,' installed at Station F in Paris, shines as a symbol of global innovation. Smart window solution company Vsion is leading the premium residential, zero-energy building (ZEB), and public procurement markets with its PDLC-based smart film brand 'VEXA'.
VEXA is an adhesive film that can be easily attached to existing glass, transforming from opaque to transparent in 0.01 seconds when electricity is supplied, providing immediate changes and privacy to a space. It perfectly complements high-end windows such as panoramic windows, tilt-and-turn windows, and folding doors.
In particular, 'VEXA Space,' a product for architectural use, effectively blocks 99.9% of ultraviolet rays and over 80% of infrared rays, significantly reducing building heating and cooling loads. Vsion's own simulation results have demonstrated that applying VEXA leads to approximately 40% reduction in electricity bills, 20% decrease in air conditioner usage, and an annual reduction of about 33,000 kg of carbon emissions (based on 3,000 pyeong). This is an effective alternative for solving building heating and cooling problems, which account for about 7% of global greenhouse gas emissions, and is gaining attention as a core element of sustainable architecture amidst the trend of mandatory ZEB implementation.
With its excellent function of securing privacy without the need for blinds, it is applied in various spaces such as premium officetels, luxury homes, hotels, and retail stores, enhancing the value of the space. Following its award in the Public Procurement Service's Open Innovation Program, Vsion is actively pursuing entry into the public procurement market by preparing for designation as an an innovative product and certification as an excellent procurement product.
In 2024, Vsion commenced operations of an advanced production plant in Jeungpyeong, Chungcheongbuk-do, equipped with cleanroom-level coating facilities and precision laser cutting equipment, thereby establishing a direct mass production system for smart films. The automated production line ensures optimal optical quality and stability, and the company plans to expand its adoption sites to schools, public institutions, and local governments through its mass supply capabilities. Its ability to improve energy performance simply by attaching the film without replacing windows gives it unique competitiveness in the remodeling market.
Extending beyond the architectural sector, Vsion's VEXA is also expanding its application scope through technical verification with global companies in the automotive smart film market, broadening its horizons as an innovative solution for future smart living.
