Tesolo Unveils the DG-5F-S, a Sub-1kg Mini Humanoid Robot Hand

Robot gripper manufacturing company Tesolo is introducing a new humanoid robot hand that realizes miniaturization and weight reduction. Tesolo is unveiling its newly developed product ‘DG-5F-S,’ which incorporates its own actuator technology. This new product features a reduction in size and weight while maintaining the core structure of Tesolo's existing flagship model, the ‘DG-5F.’ The product weighs less than 1 kg and is designed to be similar in size to an adult human hand. The driving mechanism continues to adopt the same structure as the existing model, featuring five fingers, each with four joints, resulting in a 20 degrees of freedom (20 DoF) configuration. The mechanism employs a direct drive system to minimize backlash (mechanical play) and enhance control precision. There are also changes in the pricing policy. Tesolo announced that it plans to set the price of the ‘DG-5F-S’ at approximately 60% of the existing model's price. This strategy aims to improve accessibility for startups, research institutions, and small to medium-sized enterprises that face cost burdens. Depending on customer requirements, options such as tactile sensor integration, waterproof covers, and customized operation algorithms are also supported. Previously, Tesolo released the 20 DoF humanoid hand ‘DG-5F’ in 2024 and showcased it at the International Conference on Robotics and Automation (IROS). The product is currently being exported to 16 countries. CEO Kim Young-jin of Tesolo stated, “Since 2023, we have been developing dedicated actuators optimized for humanoid robot hands,” and added, “This product represents an advancement of that technology, enhancing interoperability with various humanoid platforms.” Tesolo plans to unveil a prototype of the ‘DG-5F-S’ for the first time at 'CES 2026' in January, with a formal release expected in the first half of this year.
