Beegloo, an innovative short-drama platform operated by Spoonlabs, is officially commencing its full-scale expansion into the North American market by establishing a branch office in Los Angeles (LA), USA. This strategic move aims to develop original intellectual properties (IPs) specifically tailored to the tastes of North American viewers and secure a robust local production system. Beegloo has already proven its global capabilities, with over 70% of its total revenue coming from overseas as of the first half of 2025. Through the establishment of its LA branch, the company plans to more than double the scale of its US original content production by 2026. The LA branch will establish a system capable of independently carrying out the entire process from story development to casting and production. By combining intricate emotional depth and character-driven narratives with the fast pace of short-form content, Beegloo plans to successfully introduce its unique ‘K-short drama format’ to the US market. To achieve this, they have recruited numerous professionals from major content companies such as CJ ENM, Disney, and Coupang Play. These individuals are actively collaborating with local creators and writers to develop short-form scenarios in popular North American genres like Romantasy and Young Adult. Furthermore, a bidirectional workflow pipeline has been established between the Korean headquarters' AI and post-production teams and the US branch. By utilizing AI technology in visual effects (VFX), set design, and location work, they aim to shorten production times and maximize cost efficiency, thereby expanding opportunities for co-production with local production companies. Choi Hyeok-jae, CEO of Spoonlabs, stated, “The establishment of this branch holds significant meaning in strengthening Beegloo’s unique production and development capabilities in the global short-drama market.” He added, “We will continuously expand our network of original IPs and production partners optimized for the North American market.” Following its recent entry into the Indian market, Beegloo also participated as a panelist at ‘Content London 2025’ in the UK earlier this month, expanding its network with North American and European production companies, continuing its active global presence.
