Edutech startup Sling is shaking up the market, recording explosive growth. Its consolidated revenue in 2024 surged by an impressive 440% compared to the previous year, and over the past four years, it has shown remarkable performance with an average annual revenue growth rate of 180%.
Sling, established in March 2021, is digitizing the entire learning process and leading the future of education through 'OZO', a tablet learning app for middle and high school students, 'OZO Class', a learning management solution for educational institutions, and the innovative 'OZO AI Coach'.
Behind this rapid growth, it was crucial that not only high school students, who are OZO's core user base, but also middle school students (including prospective high school students) seeking the app for college entrance exam (Suneung) and internal grade (Naesin) preparation, surged by over 3 times compared to the previous year. As a result, in 2024 alone, it acquired an additional 400,000 new users, setting monumental records of 750,000 cumulative app downloads and 100 million problem-solving instances. Furthermore, it solidified its unique position by dominating the top spots in App Store education app popularity charts and revenue rankings.
In the B2B and B2G markets, 'OZO Class' also showed significant activity. Not only did it successfully renew its contract with Bukil High School last year, but it also signed new contracts with over 30 public education institutions nationwide, including Chungbuk Science High School and Soongsil High School, greatly contributing to revenue growth.
Sling is not stopping there; it is accelerating the expansion of its educational market reach, along with providing personalized education through advanced AI learning features. It has already successfully established itself in the civil service exam market in January of this year, and is set to enter the global exam market within the first half of the year.
CEO Ahn Kang-min stated, "OZO's unique personalized learning experience and AI coach function have established it as an essential learning app, laying the groundwork for growth," and expressed his ambition, "Going forward, we will deliver a new dimension of learning experience through domestic and international market expansion and AI technology innovation."
