PawzMedi, in clinical trials for its innovative pet body composition analyzer 'PawzScan,' proves DEXA-level accuracy PawzScan, a pet body composition analyzer developed by PawzMedi, has proven a high level of reliability comparable to DEXA (Dual-energy X-ray Absorptiometry), the medical field standard, in joint clinical trials with VetEngine, opening a new chapter in pet healthcare. In these clinical trials, conducted over six months from July last year to January this year with 44 dogs, PawzScan showed a high correlation with DEXA in key body composition indicators such as whole-body mass, body fat mass, lean body mass, and body fat percentage. Furthermore, in the results of the Bland-Altman analysis, the bias of key measurement items approached zero, firmly establishing PawzScan's accuracy and reliability. This suggests that it can provide pets with a more objective and precise body composition analysis tool, going beyond the limitations of the BCS (Body Condition Score) assessment method, which primarily relies on veterinarians' visual evaluations. Industry experts evaluate that PawzScan has extremely high potential to establish itself as essential equipment for proactive pet healthcare, including obesity prevention and muscle loss monitoring, not only in veterinary hospitals but also in general households, by offering superior economic efficiency and convenience compared to DEXA, while providing equivalent reliability.
