## Narra Space Emerges as a Key Player in National Defense and Space Security! Selected in the Space Sector for ‘Defense Innovation 100 Companies in 2025’
**Seoul, South Korea** – Narra Space, a leader in small satellite solutions, has been officially recognized as a key driving force in strengthening South Korea's national defense and space security capabilities. By being finally selected in the space sector for the ‘Defense Innovation 100 Companies in 2025,’ a national project overseen by the Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) and the Agency for Defense Development (ADD), Narra Space's unique technological prowess has been proven once again. This is a crucial initiative to foster innovative companies that will lead the future of advanced defense strategic industries, and Narra Space is expected to become a pillar of South Korea's space defense industry.
This selection provides Narra Space with an exceptional support package, including up to 5 billion won in technology development funds over the next five years, along with comprehensive benefits such as expert consulting, R&D support, and export assistance for overseas markets. This will serve as a powerful impetus for Narra Space to accelerate the development of innovative space technologies and strengthen its global competitiveness.
The background for Narra Space being named on this prestigious list lies in its technological capabilities in excellent space threat response, sophisticated space surveillance, and advanced optical surveillance. In particular, the company's "Space Asset Monitoring and Protection Technology utilizing Small Satellites," which is being meticulously developed, received top-tier evaluations from the judges.
This core technology focuses on developing "active satellites" that go beyond mere surveillance. Its key objective is to actively protect friendly satellites in orbit and precisely monitor abnormal approaches or hostile actions by other nations' satellites that could pose potential threats, doing so in real-time and at close range. It is designed to perfectly complement the blind spots inherent in existing ground-based surveillance systems and effectively respond to actual space threats such as jamming or satellite interception. This is expected to play a decisive role in securing space dominance in future battlefields.
Narra Space has an ambitious plan to establish independent space surveillance capabilities by closely linking its self-verified satellite platforms with innovative ground surveillance systems. The strategy is to drastically enhance the efficiency and flexibility of national defense space strategies by maximizing the unique advantages of small satellites: low cost, short production cycles, and cluster operability that allows multiple satellites to be operated simultaneously.
Min-sik Kim, Head of Business Development at Narra Space, stated, "This selection for the ‘Defense Innovation 100 Companies’ is a highly meaningful result, as it officially acknowledges Narra Space's technological capabilities and potential to contribute to South Korea's space defense sector by the government." He added with strong ambition, "Based on the government's full support, we will actively enter the domestic defense market and boldly expand our business into the global space security market, positioning ourselves as a leader in South Korea's space defense industry." Narra Space will continue to contribute to strengthening national security through ceaseless technological innovation and will open new horizons in the space era.
