MeTech Holdings has acquired a 51% stake in ULike Korea, a company specializing in digital livestock farming, securing management rights and establishing a strong foundation for dominating the global sustainable livestock market. This strategic acquisition aims to maximize synergy by combining MeTech's innovative methane reduction technology with ULike Korea's advanced livestock healthcare solutions, demonstrating a commitment to accelerating the global transition to low-carbon livestock farming. MeTech possesses unique 'Methane Capsule' technology that precisely measures and reduces methane gas within a cow's stomach. ULike Korea is the first company in Korea to develop 'LiveCare,' an orally administered IoT bio-capsule. It has accumulated over 30 patents and more than 1.3 billion instances of extensive livestock biometric data, and its technological prowess has been recognized in 8 countries where it has already expanded. The core of 'LiveCare' is its ability to settle in a cow's rumen, collect accurate biometric information without external environmental influence, and analyze this data with AI to provide real-time health management services. The integration of both companies' technologies is expected to holistically manage livestock health and methane emissions, setting a new standard for the low-carbon livestock era. Park Chan-mok, CEO of MeTech Holdings, announced plans to actively target the U.S. and Brazilian markets through this acquisition. Specifically, as part of Brazil's Lula government's 'Green Seal Project,' the company aims to apply its livestock traceability system to over 1 million head of cattle and plans to accelerate business expansion by securing Series A investment within the first half of the year. MeTech is already strengthening its global partnerships, having signed a $1.85 million 'Low-Carbon Project' contract with JMB North America in the U.S. Furthermore, it is actively pursuing low-carbon livestock projects with key government agencies such as the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and Brazil's EMBRAPA, expanding its global network. The company is also striving for business diversification through its subsidiary K-Cow, which specializes in low-carbon Hanwoo (Korean beef) and feed distribution and fractional investments, and its Brazilian local subsidiary (MeTech Brasil LTDA). At the ULike shareholder meeting on March 31, CEO Park Chan-mok will be appointed as co-CEO alongside current CEO Kim Hee-jin, to provide leadership for the successful integration of both companies and the realization of their shared vision.
