Medipal Achieves First Monthly Profit with 'Follow-up Management Solution'

Digital healthcare startup Medipal recorded remarkable growth, achieving its first-ever monthly profit since its establishment. As of November, it announced a successful performance turnaround with a 500% surge in sales compared to the beginning of the year. This achievement was driven by the market expansion of 'AfterDoc,' a solution for managing follow-up patients. AfterDoc is an innovative service that allows hospitals and clinics to continuously communicate with patients even after treatment, automating their post-treatment care. It aims to reduce the burden of administrative and consultation tasks for medical staff and, by maintaining contact with patients, increase their re-visit rate. To date, over 500 hospitals and clinics have adopted AfterDoc, with 500,000 patients connected to the service and cumulative consultations reaching 20 million. The analysis suggests that the rapid word-of-mouth spread and subsequent adoption were due to patients gaining a stable communication experience while hospitals simultaneously improved consultation efficiency and operational metrics. After securing a 5 billion won Series A investment in November 2023, Medipal has been accelerating its technological advancement. By analyzing hospital-specific consultation patterns and patient behavioral data, it has improved algorithm performance and built systems to respond to various aftercare scenarios. Recently, beyond local clinics, it has expanded its customer base to major medium-to-large domestic and international medical institutions such as Incheon Sejong Hospital and Vietnam H+ Hanoi, broadening the application of 'AfterCare' to the global market.
