LINE NEXT's 'Mini dApp' is opening a new chapter in the popularization of Web3 in the Asian market. Launched last January, this innovative service attracted 35 million users in just one month, recording explosive growth. Mini dApps, based on the Kaia ecosystem, maximize accessibility by being directly available within the LINE messenger without requiring a separate app installation. The ability to easily enjoy various services such as games, social applications, and content through the dApp portal and each dApp's official LINE account is a key success factor. Especially in major LINE messenger user countries such as Korea, Japan, Taiwan, and Thailand, it has gained explosive popularity, recording the creation of over 3 million new wallets. An average purchase amount of $39 per person and a 585% increase in paying users demonstrate high user engagement. Most notably, 32% of all dApp item payments were made using non-virtual assets such as credit cards. This signifies the successful influx of general users, unfamiliar with virtual assets, into Web3 services, indicating a green light for Web3 popularization. To date, 42 Mini dApps have been launched, with casual game-type dApps receiving strong responses and effectively lowering the entry barrier to Web3. The most popular dApp has garnered 1.7 million cumulative users, while the top-grossing dApp achieved approximately 1.2 billion KRW in revenue. Ko Young-soo, CEO of LINE NEXT, stated, "The success of Mini dApps proves that Web3 is ready for true mass adoption," forecasting further growth through token listings. Seo Sang-min, Chairman of the Kaia DLT Foundation, also emphasized its significance, saying, "It will serve as a precedent for the growth of a blockchain ecosystem that combines scalability and profitability." LINE NEXT has been providing a web version of the dApp portal since February to enhance accessibility and plans to continuously expand user-centric Mini dApps in collaboration with partners through the Kaia Wave program and Software Development Kit (SDK). Mini dApps are expected to further expand their influence as a powerful frontrunner in leading the popularization of Web3 services.
