A significant event was held, injecting new vitality into the agri-food tech startup ecosystem. The accelerator Krypton successfully hosted the '2025 Agri-food Tech Startup Accelerator Nurturing Support Program: Woo Jang-choon 2.0 Project Demo Day' on the 18th, at voco Seoul Gangnam in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
This project is a specialized acceleration program hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and the Korea Agricultural Technology Promotion Agency, and operated by Krypton, focusing on intensively fostering technology-based agri-food startups. This Demo Day was held as a private event attended by over 50 key stakeholders, including agri-food investors, large corporation open innovation teams, retail MDs, and technology verification institutions, showing enthusiastic interest.
This year, 11 promising companies, possessing both technological prowess and business viability, were selected to participate in the program. Racemia, Gyulmedal, Entech Bio-S, Ioharmony, Phyto Research, Insight FI, Very Biz B, Sodam Sodam, Matari, Charvetier, and Banseok Industry were among them. Over the past six months, these companies underwent an intensive, field-oriented acceleration process, including product advancement, market validation, strengthening brand and distribution strategies, and investment attraction mentoring, thereby solidifying their business models. They also fostered practical growth through Zespri Jeju exploration and an insight camp.
The Demo Day commenced with opening remarks from Krypton CEO Yang Kyoung-joon and Korea Agricultural Technology Promotion Agency Team Leader Lee Jung-in, followed by a keynote speech from Rokya CEO Kwon Min-soo. Subsequently, each participating company presented their innovative technology status, commercialization strategies, and future expansion plans convincingly, drawing the attention of investors and stakeholders. Following the presentations, in-depth business meetings with investors, institutions, and large corporation representatives actively took place through booth events and networking.
An official from an attending investment firm positively commented, "It's rare to meet such refined technology-based agri-food startups in one place," adding, "There were many companies that require future collaboration and investment review." This attests to the potential of the participating companies.
A Krypton official emphasized that "The Woo Jang-choon 2.0 Project is a comprehensive support program that goes beyond mere education, covering technology and product verification, distribution linkages, and investment matching, all essential for the actual agri-food industry," and stated, "These 11 companies will lead technological innovation in the domestic agri-food industry, and discussions for investment attraction and partnerships will accelerate starting from this Demo Day."
Based on the high technological capability and product competitiveness confirmed at this Demo Day, Krypton plans to actively support mid-to-long-term scale-up strategies to enable participating companies to successfully enter not only the domestic market but also the global market. Through this, the Woo Jang-choon 2.0 Project is expected to provide continuous growth momentum to the agri-food tech startup ecosystem.
