Karrot to Surpass 190 Million Second-Hand Deals by 2025
In 2025, Karrot, the local life community, had a meaningful year through active connections between neighbors. Over the year, neighborly connections through second-hand transactions reached an impressive 190 million cases. Among them, 45,000 people achieved 'Manner Temperature 99 degrees,' the highest trust indicator, leading a warm transaction culture. Free sharing was also actively carried out, particularly for furniture and interior items, infant and children's products, and household and kitchen items, which have short usage cycles or whose necessity changes due to environmental shifts, contributing to resource circulation. Beyond simple transactions, the 'Local Life' bulletin board and group services generated 86 million communications, a 95% increase compared to the previous year. In particular, groups sharing hobbies and interests saw their cumulative number surge by 63% and subscribers by 125%, becoming a venue for offline exchanges such as running, reading, and exploring local eateries. The 'Local Walking' beta service, which started last July, recorded 168 billion steps in just five months—an enormous number of steps equivalent to 2,940 laps around the Earth or 153 round trips between Earth and the Moon—supporting neighbors' healthy local lives. 'Karrot Part-time,' which reflects the demand for local job matching, recorded over 50 million applications, contributing to local economic revitalization. Hwang Do-yeon, CEO of Karrot Market, emphasized that all these achievements are due to the power of connections created by neighbors through Karrot, and stated that the company will continue to strengthen local life connections through hyper-local services. Karrot, celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, has consistently maintained a monthly active user (MAU) base of 20 million, proving itself to be a deeply rooted service in neighbors' daily lives.
