Cycloid-Baemin Launch LED Delivery Box Electric Scooter Subscription Service
The urban delivery environment takes another step towards a smart and eco-friendly future. Electric bike platform company Cycloid (service name ‘Badream’) has partnered with Woowa Brothers, a leader in delivery services, to officially launch an innovative ‘Electric Two-Wheeler Subscription Service with LED Delivery Boxes’. On the 10th, following a launch ceremony held at the Badream Research Institute in Yangjae-dong, Seoul, the first batch of 50 electric two-wheelers began full-scale operation. This special service is central to the ‘Eco-Friendly Electric Two-Wheeler Demonstration Project’ jointly pursued by both companies, and is planned to be actively rolled out, focusing on the Gangnam 3-gu districts of Seoul. The most notable feature of this service is the ‘LED delivery box’. Approved through a regulatory sandbox demonstration special exemption, this advanced device significantly enhances rider visibility during night driving, greatly contributing to the prevention of traffic accidents. Furthermore, it also has the function of broadcasting public service information and advertisements, making it a unique model that provides riders with an additional revenue stream beyond delivery fees, thereby simultaneously achieving the twin values of safety and profit. This collaboration is a significant achievement for Cycloid, accomplished just six months after starting its electric bike subscription business. The two companies had previously built trust by conducting a ‘Good-High Topbox’ replacement campaign for riders, and Cycloid was selected as Woowa Brothers' strategic partner due to the high evaluation of its ‘Badream’ app-based subscription system and excellent on-site operational capabilities. This is a result where its innovation and execution as a startup shone brightly. Following the initial shipment of 50 units, Cycloid is immediately preparing to supply an additional 50 units, accelerating its business expansion. Based on the data accumulated through this demonstration project, the company has set an ambitious goal to expand its operational scale to approximately 1,000 units by 2026. This is expected to significantly contribute to dramatically reducing urban noise and carbon emissions, and strengthening ESG management, which is a corporate social responsibility. Kwon Jun-il, CEO of Cycloid, stated his strong commitment, saying, "This demonstration project is an important attempt to create a safe and sustainable delivery ecosystem," and "Through collaboration with Woowa Brothers, we will establish a new standard for eco-friendly mobility where riders and companies coexist and prosper." Furthermore, a Cycloid official presented a vision to "expand beyond achieving the goal of supplying 1,000 units by 2026, transforming into an integrated platform (Super App) that encompasses all services related to electric two-wheelers, from subsidy applications, new vehicle sales, and parts services to second-hand transactions," thereby expressing a strong ambition to lead the future of the electric two-wheeler market.
