A clear trend shows employees preferring private services for tax refunds. A recent survey reveals that two out of three employees have experience receiving tax refunds through private tax assistance services, demonstrating a distinct preference for filing comprehensive income tax through external services rather than in-house year-end tax adjustments.
According to a "Year-end Tax Adjustment Awareness Survey" conducted by Jarbis & Villains' Samjeomsam targeting 816 employees, 64.3% of respondents reported having refund experience through tax assistance services like Samjeomsam.
The evaluation of year-end tax adjustment accuracy averaged only 3.44 out of 5 points, with the "sufficient explanation from the person in charge" item scoring particularly low at 3.21 points, suggesting that satisfaction with in-house workplace services falls short of expectations.
Notably, 62.2% of employees were aware that comprehensive income tax filing could replace year-end tax adjustment, and among them, 43.1% had already experienced this through actual external services or tax accountants.
The main reasons employees preferred external services varied, including ▲convenience (18.5%) ▲handling of supplementary income (13.8%) ▲distrust in workplace year-end tax adjustment (12.6%) ▲expectation of higher refund amounts (11.4%).
Indeed, according to Samjeomsam's own data, approximately 1.72 million people, accounting for 47.7% of the 3.61 million employees who filed comprehensive income tax or inquired about refunds last year, were eligible for refunds. This strongly suggests that a significant number of deduction items may be missed during the in-house workplace year-end tax adjustment process. These results underscore the increasing importance of the digitalization of tax services and personalized tax management.
