All-in-one LLM solution company Allganize announced the results of a comprehensive survey on the current status and outlook of AI agent adoption by Japanese companies. According to this survey, over half (51.6%) of the responding companies have either already adopted AI agents or are actively planning to do so, clearly indicating an acceleration in technological innovation. Specifically, among the 388 respondents planning to adopt AI agents, 58.3% expected AI agents to be implemented in their systems within one year. Detailed figures showed 4.9% within "3 months," 16.8% within "6 months," and 36.6% within "1 year," confirming Japanese companies' swift and proactive approach to adoption. Awareness of AI agents was very high. 78.1% of all respondents were aware of AI agents, with the highest response (26.6%) being "I don't know the technical structure, but I understand the difference from generative AI and some products/services to some extent." This indicates that a significant number of companies understand the basic concepts, going beyond mere familiarity with the term. The main business challenges companies aimed to solve with AI agents were "reducing working hours and overtime" at 35.7%, followed by "resolving labor shortages" (33.2%) and "promoting data utilization" (32.2%). This indicates a strong intention among companies to address core business challenges such as increasing efficiency and alleviating labor shortages through AI agents. The most important factor considered for adoption and operation was "ease of integration with in-house systems" at an overwhelmingly high 39.5%. This suggests that not only the technical performance of AI agents but also their ease of integration with existing IT infrastructure is a decisive factor for practical application. Currently, adopted AI agents are primarily used for "data collection, analysis, and exploration" (accounting for half), showing a tendency to focus on strengthening data-driven decision-making. Lee Chang-soo, CEO of Allganize, predicted that this survey indicates AI agents have already entered the verification stage as a viable strategic tool in the Japanese market, with a rapid increase in corporate utilization expected in the short term. He also emphasized to domestic companies the importance of defining specific task automation and setting priorities through AI agents beyond merely utilizing generative AI, and furthermore, preparing to strengthen overall organizational competitiveness. He stressed that the adoption of AI agents should expand beyond individual task efficiency into a strategic dimension.
