38 K-Startups Make Global Leap at Singapore SWITCH 2025
Korean startups showcased the power of K-innovation at Singapore Week of Innovation & Technology (SWITCH) 2025, establishing a bridgehead for entry into the Southeast Asian and global markets. Held in Singapore from October 29 to 31, this event saw the participation of over 400 companies from 108 markets worldwide, serving as a platform to explore collaboration opportunities in future industry sectors such as artificial intelligence, sustainability, healthcare, and deep tech. In particular, the Korea Institute of Startup & Entrepreneurship Development (KISED) partnered with five major institutions, including the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency (KOSME), Daejeon Technopark, Pohang Technopark, Busan Technical Startup Investment Institute, and Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), successfully operating the 'K-Startup Pavilion' and showcasing 38 promising startups. They introduced Korea's advanced technological capabilities to the world in four key areas: manufacturing and trade connectivity, health and bio, environment and energy and green tech, and digital innovation technologies. On the day before the event, through the 'Lab Crawls' program collaborated with Enterprise Singapore, participants directly experienced the local R&D ecosystem and explored practical cooperation models by analyzing AI and digital transformation cases of global companies such as Grab, Tech Singapore Advocates, ACE SG, and Microsoft Singapore. Additionally, at the 'K-Startup Night' networking event held on the evening of the first day of the exhibition, over 150 local investors, buyers, and industry stakeholders attended to deeply discuss collaboration opportunities with Korean startups. Participation in SWITCH this time led to brilliant achievements. A total of 609 business consultations were actively conducted, and a remarkable feat of signing four important Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) on-site was achieved. Studio Galileo signed a total of two MoUs with UNL Global and One Tree Hills for future-type platform development and global expansion cooperation. CoEye is pursuing joint development of AI autonomous driving robot technology, and Marinachain is accelerating follow-up discussions while pursuing collaboration on a shipping logistics carbon reduction solution. Yoo Jong-pil, President of the Korea Institute of Startup & Entrepreneurship Development (KISED), emphasized, "Through this SWITCH, Korean startups have laid an important foundation for leaping into the global market." He further stated his ambition, "We will continue to strengthen overseas networks and investment linkages to fully support Korean startups in building a solid growth foundation on the world stage."
