Startups Fostered by Gyeonggi CCEI Sweep Edison Awards 2025, Proving Global Innovation
Startups fostered by Gyeonggi Center for Creative Economy & Innovation (hereinafter Gyeonggi CCEI) received 3 Gold, 3 Silver, and 4 Bronze awards at the 'Edison Awards 2025', solidifying their global technology leadership. At the awards ceremony held on the 3rd in Florida, USA, a total of 10 Korean startups, including 8 supported by Gyeonggi CCEI and 2 self-submitted, were honored with the main awards. This year, 115 companies worldwide received awards, and the event was highly prestigious, with NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award.
Gold award recipients include Metaphermers for AI robot farming automation, Hydrogen Butterfly for hydrogen fuel cell clean energy solutions, and Cellico, which achieved the remarkable feat of winning for three consecutive years with its self-submitted entry. Silver awards went to Aviss for its AI pathology diagnostic technology 'PathoAiD®', KLcube for its sign language recognition aid 'Handsign Talk Talk', and SMT (self-submitted, winning for three consecutive years). Bronze awards were given to four companies: Aetech for smart sensors, Braindec for EEG-based assistive devices, SerieEnergy for sustainable energy, and NationA for industrial AI analysis.
Notably, Cellico and SMT, both graduates of Pangyo Startup Zone, attracted attention by setting an extraordinary record of winning the Edison Awards for three consecutive years. This achievement is thanks to the systematic support from Gyeonggi CCEI through its 'Global Star Venture Innovation Challenge' program. Comprehensive customized support, from submission strategy consulting to funding and preliminary training, led to these global achievements.
A Gyeonggi CCEI official emphasized, "This is a splendid achievement, recognized not only for its technological prowess but also for its business potential in the global market," adding, "We will continue to provide unstinting practical support to help promising startups leap forward on the world stage." The award-winning companies demonstrated both originality and marketability in key future industrial sectors such as artificial intelligence, smart energy, and eco-friendly technologies.
