Yanolja Open-Sources Translation LLM 'EEVE ROSETTA'

Global travel tech company Yanolja has opened a new horizon in translation technology. By fully open-sourcing its self-developed translation-specialized large language model (LLM) 'EEVE ROSETTA,' it is creating a significant ripple effect in the AI ecosystem. This model, born from Yanolja's Korean-optimized LLM 'EEVE,' was developed under the vision of 'Efficient and Effective Vocabulary Expansion.' It is the result of focusing EEVE's core capabilities, which include versatile functions such as text generation, content summarization, language translation, and sentiment analysis, specifically on translation. EEVE Rosetta's technological prowess has been proven since its immediate release. Not only was it selected as 'Korean LLM of the Year' by the Korea National Information Society Agency, but it also proudly claimed the top spot on both the Hugging Face Korean Leaderboard and the Horangi Leaderboard, showcasing its outstanding performance. In particular, EEVE Rosetta overcomes the limitations of existing translation models, which primarily focused on English and Chinese, by supporting free translation between more than 10 languages, including Korean. Despite being a lightweight, decoder-only language model with only 4 billion parameters, it is more than twice as efficient as the 10.8 billion parameter EEVE 1.0 model, while boasting accuracy comparable to models with over 7 billion parameters, significantly reducing operating costs. Furthermore, it is designed to run even in a standard PC environment, demonstrating excellent technological accessibility. The most significant feature of this model is that it goes beyond merely converting words. It accurately assesses the complex context, subtle nuances, meaning of sentences, and even emotions embedded in the original text to generate high-quality translations. This is expected to become a key tool for preserving the essence of data and breaking down communication barriers across various industries such as travel, commerce, and healthcare. Yanolja has released this powerful AI model under an open-source license, allowing businesses, public institutions, individual developers, and anyone else to utilize it commercially and freely. This move clearly demonstrates Yanolja's commitment to open innovation and the popularization of AI technology.
