Kim Eui-jung, CEO of WiPlo, a future mobility predictive maintenance solution company, received a commendation from the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy. This recognition for the development of the innovative drone inspection automation technology 'verti-Pit' and contributions to the AAM sector publicly acknowledged WiPlo's technological prowess both domestically and internationally. WiPlo, which started as an in-house venture at Hanwha Systems, changed the paradigm of the unmanned mobility industry by introducing the artificial intelligence (AI)-based non-contact automatic drone inspection solution 'verti-Pit' under CEO Kim Eui-jung's leadership. It transcended the limitations of existing visual and manual inspections, ushering in an era of automated precision inspection and newly establishing drone quality standards. In particular, WiPlo's core solution, 'verti-Pit QC', utilizes multimodal fusion sensors and mobility-specialized vertical AI to boast unique technological capabilities, inspecting 15 key items such as appearance, drive unit, safety, and mechanical defects at the EoL (End-of-Line) stage of drone production with 99.8% accuracy within 1 minute. This has been proven by the acquisition of a total of 26 patents both domestically and internationally. CEO Kim Eui-jung is also leading the way in technology commercialization and revitalizing the industrial ecosystem. Since 2023, the company has participated as a delivery infrastructure operator in the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's 'Drone Demonstration City Construction Project,' establishing 153 drone delivery centers in 13 local governments nationwide. Through pads equipped with inspection functions, it made crucial contributions to drone safe operation infrastructure guidelines and national standardization. Furthermore, WiPlo, recognized for its innovative capabilities in the defense sector through its selection as one of the 'Defense Innovation 100 Companies' in 2024 and participation in the National Defense Drone Combat Experiment Project, is now expanding its business into the Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) sector, strengthening its global competitiveness by collaborating with air taxi manufacturers and OEMs. Through this award, CEO Kim Eui-jung reaffirmed WiPlo's technological prowess and vision, pledging to continue leading innovation in the future unmanned mobility industry and contributing to South Korea's rise as a global mobility powerhouse.
