A new chapter for Korea-Japan cycle tourism is set to begin in Fukuoka. Virtu Company, a Korean bicycle lifestyle startup, is collaborating with Cargo Pass, a Japanese airport baggage specialist, to launch the innovative 'Roundel Green Pack Service' at Fukuoka Airport starting March 20th. This service is designed to allow cyclists visiting Fukuoka to conveniently rent and return bicycle cases for air transport. This business agreement was made possible with the active support of the Fukuoka Prefecture Tourism Federation and is expected to significantly contribute to revitalizing exchanges between cyclists from both countries and promoting eco-friendly cycle tourism. An official from the Fukuoka Prefecture Tourism Federation emphasized that this collaboration maximizes travel convenience for Korean and Japanese cyclists and perfectly aligns with the goals of the 'FUKUOKA Cycling Tour Concierge' project. Furthermore, they expressed hope that an environment would be created where cyclists from both countries could freely travel between their respective nations and enjoy bicycle tours. Virtu Company plans to officially embark on its expansion into the Japanese market, starting with this Fukuoka Airport service. By 2025, the company aims to expand its services to major airports such as Matsuyama, Naha (Okinawa), and Chitose (Hokkaido), and by 2026, it plans to launch customized services for Japanese citizens and establish a Japanese subsidiary. Yoon Jun-yong, CEO of Virtu Company, emphasized that this agreement is a crucial first step that goes beyond simply attracting tourists, promoting meaningful exchanges between Korean and Japanese cyclists. He expressed his ambition to contribute to the development of the tourism industry in both countries by building a robust cycling network connecting Korea and Japan. Koji Moriyama, CEO of Cargo Pass, and Yoon Jun-yong, CEO of Virtu Company, met directly at Fukuoka Airport on March 14th to sign the agreement, officially ushering in a new era of Korea-Japan cycling cultural exchange.
