The Ulsan Center for Creative Economy and Innovation (Ulsan CCEI) announced a new driving force for the maritime logistics industry by selecting 25 promising startups that will lead future logistics innovation through its '2025 Smart Maritime Logistics Startup Flame' project. This project focuses on fostering startups in the smart maritime logistics sector step-by-step and securing core innovation drivers for the future logistics industry through customized support.
After fierce preliminary competition, a total of 25 companies ultimately joined: 10 companies for the 'Startup Audition' for prospective entrepreneurs, 10 companies for the 'Unicorn Test' targeting early-stage startups, and 5 companies for 'Open Innovation' which emphasizes technology demonstration.
The selected companies will enjoy special benefits starting in July. Concentrated support optimized for each stage will be provided, ranging from commercialization funds of up to 40 million won to expert mentoring, startup spaces and demonstration infrastructure, and even matching with joint projects with demand-side companies.
Kim Heon-seong, CEO of the Ulsan Center for Creative Economy and Innovation, expressed a strong commitment to fostering "practical growth closely connected to industrial sites," going beyond simple financial support. He expects these companies with innovative items to grow into key players that will change the landscape of future maritime logistics.
