TheVentures is expanding its horizons for discovering innovative tech startups to the global stage. Building on the success of its 'University Student Venture Scout Program', which has been successfully operated domestically, it is now leaping forward with the 'Global Venture Scout Program'. Kim Chul-woo, CEO of TheVentures, revealed a strong commitment to broadly creating global investment opportunities through this expansion, and particularly to be the first to discover promising deep tech entrepreneurs and help early-stage companies achieve explosive growth. To achieve this, TheVentures is partnering with students from six world-class universities, including UC Berkeley and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Through these partnerships, it plans to meticulously build a global startup investment pipeline, and especially to focus on discovering innovative deep tech-based startup teams emerging from university labs from their early stages. With this strategy, TheVentures aims to actively support the growth of competitive early-stage companies and expand its global investment network. This global endeavor is built upon remarkable achievements already made domestically. The 'University Student Venture Scout Program', operated over seven sessions, produced 212 graduates and set an astonishing record of 618 deal sourcings and participation in 53 secondary interviews. As a result, it led to 8 actual investments, proving its tangible value. CEO Kim emphasized, "The effectiveness of this program in achieving tangible results by identifying creative and innovative technology-based entrepreneurs early and executing actual investments has already been clearly proven domestically," expressing strong confidence in global expansion. Through this Global Venture Scout Program, TheVentures is expected to act as a strong bridge connecting promising deep tech startups worldwide with Korea, injecting new vitality into the global startup ecosystem.
