Speak, a leader in AI English learning, has been recognized for its innovative achievements and has taken to the global stage of prestige. Speak, operated by Speakeasy Labs Korea, recently proudly made it onto the '2025 AI 50' list selected by Forbes, an American economic media outlet. What is particularly noteworthy is that it was the only company selected from the language education sector. Now in its 7th year, the Forbes AI 50 is an authoritative list that identifies private companies solving real-world problems with AI technology. Leading VCs from Silicon Valley participate, meticulously evaluating companies' technological capabilities, AI utilization, and business potential, and it serves as an indicator for gauging the future of the global AI industry. This year, a record 1,860 companies registered as candidates, engaging in fierce competition. Speak is changing the paradigm of language learning with its proprietary AI speech recognition technology, and within five years of its launch, approximately 10 million users worldwide are utilizing it to learn English and Spanish. Particularly in Korea, over 6% of the entire population is breaking down language barriers through Speak, and based on this explosive growth, it secured 110 billion KRW in Series C funding in 2024, achieving the remarkable feat of becoming a unicorn company with a valuation of 1.4 trillion KRW. At Speak's core is an output-focused learning method, under the philosophy that 'language improves by speaking,' that helps learners utter over 1,000 sentences per week. The AI Speak Tutor and personalized content enable immersive conversation practice without time and space constraints. Recently, by launching the 'Speak for Business' service for corporate clients, it has expanded its business scope and is also making a prominent mark in the B2B market with specialized solutions tailored to industries and job roles. Connor Nicolai Zwick, CEO of Speakeasy Labs Korea, emphasized regarding this selection that it is "a meaningful moment where Speak's technology and vision have been recognized globally," and revealed his aspiration to create a world where AI technology enables confident communication beyond language barriers. Speak proves that language is more than just a means of communication, but a key that unlocks global careers and cross-cultural communication, and will continue to innovate in the field of AI-driven language education.
