Seoul National University Technology Holdings (SNUTH) and ASICLAND signed a strategic business agreement on the 22nd to discover and foster promising startups in the AI and semiconductor deep-tech sectors. This collaboration between SNUTH (CEO Mok Seung-hwan), which specializes in early-stage technology company investment, and ASICLAND (CEO Lee Jong-min), TSMC's sole official design solution partner in Korea, is expected to inject new vitality into the domestic startup ecosystem. Both companies promised comprehensive support, ranging from the discovery of deep-tech startups to investment, mentoring, Proof of Concept (PoC) collaboration, and the joint promotion of startup ecosystem vitalization programs. In particular, the synergy between SNUTH's early-stage investment capabilities and ASICLAND's edge AI semiconductor development and ultra-fine process design technology (5nm or below, CoWoS, chiplet, etc.) is expected to form the cornerstone for the birth of globally competitive next-generation technology companies. Mok Seung-hwan, CEO of SNUTH, expressed his ambition to foster global technology companies like 'the next Rebellions' through the combination of ASICLAND's technological prowess and SNUTH's investment capabilities. Lee Jong-min, CEO of ASICLAND, also emphasized the strengthening of AI semiconductor industry leadership, stating that SNUTH's investment expertise will provide a strong foundation for the growth of deep-tech startups. Established in 2008, SNUTH has led investments in excellent technology startups based at Seoul National University through over 120 billion KRW in assets under management and 14 funds. ASICLAND is a key company that provides full lifecycle solutions from semiconductor design to mass production, as TSMC's exclusive value chain partner in Korea, representing the world's largest foundry. Through this agreement, both organizations plan to materialize joint investment and technological cooperation to actively support startups with the potential to grow into unicorn companies in the AI and semiconductor sectors.
