SWITCH 2025, the heart of Singapore's technological innovation, will unfold vibrantly from October 29 to 31 at Marina Bay Sands. On this global stage, the 'K-Startup Pavilion,' poised to showcase the prowess of Korean startups, will open its doors at an unprecedented scale.
This pavilion, ambitiously prepared by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups (MSS) and the Korea Institute of Startup & Entrepreneurship Development (KISED), boasts a total of 38 booths across 198㎡, with 38 promising domestic startups participating. These companies, possessing innovative technologies poised to lead future industries such as deep tech, AI, healthcare, and cleantech, aim to enter the Southeast Asian market and expand global partnerships. Five related organizations, including the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency (KOSME), Daejeon Technopark, Pohang Technopark, Busan Technical Business Incubation Center, and Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), are also joining forces to support the successful overseas expansion of Korean startups.
SWITCH is Asia's leading technology and innovation festival, hosted by Enterprise Singapore and supported by the National Research Foundation, Prime Minister's Office. Last year, over 20,000 participants from more than 100 countries, 400 exhibitors, and national pavilions from 30 countries demonstrated its prestige. Commemorating Singapore's 60th anniversary and SWITCH's 10th edition, this event will further solidify Singapore's status as a global deep tech hub through immersive innovation exhibitions.
KISED spares no effort in providing comprehensive support to help participating companies achieve tangible results. It assists in participating in organizer programs such as the startup pitching competition 'Slingshot' and the local startup support institution visit program 'Lab Crawls.' Furthermore, it plans to host a customized networking event exclusively for Korean companies, 'K-Startup Night' (October 29, Raffles Hotel), to deeply impress the Southeast Asian ecosystem with Korean technological prowess and growth potential. In addition, 16 student supporters from Hannam University and Chungbuk National University will provide on-site support, including exhibition operations, interpretation, and promotion.
Cindy Ngiam, Director of Enterprise Singapore, stated, "Singapore and Korea collaborate closely across the entire innovation ecosystem, and we expect Korean startups to interact with global investors and partners through SWITCH, thereby expanding their growth opportunities." Yoo Jong-pil, President of KISED, also conveyed his aspiration, saying, "SWITCH is a global stage where innovative companies and investors from around the world converge. We will actively support Korean startups in expanding their global networks and discovering new growth opportunities based on their technological capabilities and creativity."
This SWITCH 2025 'K-Startup Pavilion' will mark a crucial turning point for Korean startups to expand their reach globally.
