'Seoul Fintech Lab', a fintech startup nurturing institution hosted by the Seoul Metropolitan Government, successfully concluded its recruitment for resident and membership companies for the first half of 2025, demonstrating the intense enthusiasm in the fintech industry. The number of views and applicant companies more than doubled compared to last year. Seoul Fintech Lab, which provides dedicated office spaces and customized support to domestic and international fintech companies founded within the last seven years, expanded its specialized mentoring programs this year to help companies acquire overseas financial licenses and achieve designation as innovative financial services, significantly increasing participation from startups aiming for global market expansion. Notably, Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon personally visited Seoul Fintech Lab and held a 'Digital Finance Activation Meeting', expressing a strong commitment to developing Seoul into a global fintech hub, thereby greatly raising the expectations of the participating companies. The 20 newly selected resident companies are comprised of innovative items that converge finance and information and communication technology. 'HigherDiversity', a financial data analysis solution exclusively for foreigners; 'SurfCompany', a shipping data-based cargo trading platform; 'HigherX', a gig worker task management solution; and 'McKinley Rice', a cross-border HR service, were selected as key companies. In addition, 'Bamie Edu', a generative AI and blockchain-based learning platform; 'Canvas&People', an AI solution for tax risk management; 'Vatie AI', a financial RPA SaaS; and 'Giraffe AI Labs Korea', a web3-based securities company, were among the many technology-based startups poised to lead future finance, drawing significant attention. As membership companies, 'Irooty', which handles blockchain and AI-based K-content investment/copyright management; 'Ollafintech', an e-commerce seller pre-settlement service; and 'Carelog', a smart care solution for the elderly, were among seven companies selected, demonstrating both the technological diversity and business model scalability of the fintech industry. An official from Seoul Fintech Lab stated, "We will provide full-fledged customized growth support to ensure that the selected excellent startups can leap forward as competitive leading companies on the global stage," expressing expectations for the growth of these key players who will lead innovation in future finance.
