Sandbox Network, a leader in the digital entertainment industry, has declared a major transition to 'creator IP business' on the occasion of its 10th anniversary, presenting its vision for the next 10 years.
Sandbox Network, which will mark its 10th anniversary in June 2025, recently held a commemorative ceremony with all its members and plans to launch a 10th-anniversary brand campaign in the second half of the year. Sandbox, which started as an MCN company in 2015 with creators including Dotty, has achieved remarkable growth through extensive business expansion, including content planning, advertising, commerce, publishing, and performances. Its annual revenue, which was merely 1 billion KRW at its founding, surged to 66 billion KRW in 2024, establishing itself as a comprehensive digital content company beyond a mere MCN.
The company will now make the unique characters and storytelling of creators its core assets, positioning 'IP business' as its future growth engine. Beyond merchandise production, it plans to establish diversified IP derivative businesses such as animation and children's book publishing, thereby further strengthening its business portfolio. Its existing advertising business will evolve into an influencer solution integrating content and commerce, maximizing synergy.
Notably, the self-planned virtual idol project 'Kyul-Sok Idol (working title),' slated for launch in the second half of 2025, is expected to break down the boundaries between K-pop and the creator industry, presenting a new form of IP business model encompassing music, live content, and community, thus drawing significant anticipation.
CEO Lee Pil-sung emphasized 'providing positive experiences for everyone' as Sandbox Network's core value and revealed specific goals: achieving 100 billion KRW in sales and 10 billion KRW in operating profit within the next three years, along with pursuing an IPO as the first digital entertainment company in Korea. Sandbox Network plans to firmly establish itself as a company leading the new decade of the creator economy through its unique competitiveness based on content IP.
