A new wave of change is beginning, set to lead the AI era. Global AI blockchain startup Sahara AI has finally unveiled its long-prepared public testnet 'SIWA', taking a significant first step towards building a decentralized AI ecosystem. SIWA is a core infrastructure of the Sahara blockchain that clearly records the ownership of datasets and models, key assets in AI development, on the blockchain, and promises fair compensation and revenue sharing for contributions. Up until now, despite large AI models utilizing data from countless individuals, data providers themselves have not received fair compensation. Sahara AI is a practical movement to rectify this injustice, and, as co-founder and CEO Sean Ren stated, it is "part of an effort to make the AI ecosystem fairer." Sahara AI has already demonstrated impressive growth potential, having secured over 3.2 million accounts and 1.4 million daily active users during its private testnet phase. This 'SIWA Phase 1' focuses on the on-chaining of data ownership, allowing anyone to directly register and tokenize their datasets to create value. Sahara AI, which has presented a 3-phase roadmap leading to the mainnet, will establish an on-chain licensing and revenue sharing system in the first phase, where contributions directly lead to rewards. It will then expand into a permissionless open-source testnet, and ultimately plans to complete the ultimate decentralized AI pipeline with the introduction of AI pipeline registration, contribution tracking, and proof-of-contribution features, enabling automated revenue distribution throughout the complex AI development process. Sympathizing with this innovative vision, over 40 new partners, including AWS, Google Cloud, UC Berkeley, and Together AI, have joined. They are significantly expanding the global AI and blockchain ecosystem alongside existing partners such as Microsoft, Amazon, MIT, and USC. Vipul Ved Prakash, CEO of Together AI, praised Sahara AI, stating, "Sahara AI is fundamentally changing the paradigm of AI development," and emphasized the importance of scalable infrastructure for creating a fair participation environment. With the launch of SIWA, Sahara AI plans to sequentially release key applications, including an AI development platform, an AI marketplace, and a data service platform. In particular, the data service platform, which will be publicly released on May 27th, will play a crucial role in enabling decentralized participants to contribute to high-quality data collection and labeling, and ensuring data accuracy and reliability through a decentralized peer review and reward system. Indeed, during the private testnet, this platform achieved a high accuracy rate of 92-95% and secured over 2.55 million approved data entries. Sahara AI's ultimate goal is to create a fair world where all those who provide data, develop models, and implement applications can enjoy legitimate benefits as true protagonists of the AI ecosystem. The launch of SIWA will be a significant milestone, ushering in a new era where AI benefits more people.
