The Catholic University Startup Incubation Center and Redwit, the operator of the electronic research notebook ‘Goono’, have successfully concluded the industry-academia cooperation course ‘Startup Adventure Design’. Following an agreement in July aimed at fostering startups and enhancing research ethics, Redwit’s Lead Researcher Lee Jun-seong participated as a co-professor, delivering practical education on research notebook writing, intellectual property rights, and commercialization. Notably, Redwit's cloud-based electronic research notebook service 'Goono' was actively utilized in this course. Goono greatly assisted students in systematically developing their ideas and collaborating by managing scattered research data and knowledge in one place, preventing the falsification or alteration of records with private blockchain security, and supporting all file types and external service integration. Thanks to Goono's easy accessibility across various devices such as smartphones, tablets, and PCs, the difficulties of writing paper-based research notebooks were also alleviated. Bolstered by this support, students achieved outstanding results. A total of 6 teams garnered 6 awards in internal and external competitions. Among them, the 'Jamkkanman Hajiman' (Wait But) team, with their generative AI-based technology for preventing news bias, won awards in two competitions, including the KAIST contest. The 'Deep Secure' team received the Grand Prize at the CUK Innovation Idea Competition for their AI-based lecture material translation and mock exam creation service. Redwit actively supported these two teams, selected for their excellent ideas, with provisional patent applications, helping students' creative achievements translate into actual intellectual property rights. Students expressed satisfaction that Goono played a crucial role in the research notebook writing and collaboration process, and in systematizing their ideas and proceeding with patent applications. Kim Ji-won, CEO of Redwit, and Seong Jae-yeol, Director of the Catholic University Startup Incubation Center, stated that through continuous collaboration in the future, they will actively support students in creating startup and research achievements and further develop intellectual property-based startup education programs.
