Pet Tech Pitter Patter Secures First Taiwan Export Contract, Kicking Off Global Expansion
Pet-tech company PitterPatter, based on genetic testing, has taken its first step into the Taiwanese market, opening the prelude to global expansion. This is a remarkable achievement, recognizing its unique technology and data accumulated domestically, and marks its second global market entry after Japan. In Taiwan, it will introduce genetic disease risk testing and DNA-based breed analysis services for companion dogs and cats, and plans to meet customers through diverse channels such as veterinary hospitals, specialty stores, and online platforms via its local partner's extensive distribution network. Last October, it jointly participated in a Taiwanese pet expo with its local partner to promote the excellence of its services, and the in-depth discussions at that time became the decisive factor for this contract. PitterPatter is using the Taiwanese market as a bridgehead and is actively discussing entry into other regions across Asia, including Japan, China, Singapore, and Indonesia, as well as some parts of the Middle East. It plans to solidify its global presence with customized strategies optimized for the characteristics of each country. Domestically, in partnership with Nongshim's pet-specialized brand 'Banddaum', it is successfully operating an innovative package combining DNA testing and nutritional supplements, leading the market. Park Jun-ho, CEO of PitterPatter, emphasized, "Entering the Taiwanese market, which boasts high interest and consumption levels in pet healthcare, is an important milestone proving that PitterPatter's technology and data competitiveness have been recognized internationally." Meanwhile, starting with support from the Jeju Creative Economy Innovation Center, PitterPatter has built a solid foundation for growth, including attracting Pre-A investment and being selected for the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' TIPS program.
