Nota-Renesas Develops Ultra-compact Edge AI Driver Monitoring Solution

Nota AI, a company specializing in on-device AI optimization, has partnered with Renesas Electronics, a global semiconductor leader, to unveil an innovative driver monitoring system (DMS) for ultra-compact edge devices. Both companies successfully implemented real-time driver state analysis (such as fatigue and inattention detection) at approximately 50 FPS (frames per second) even in an ultra-low-power environment, by applying Nota's proprietary AI optimization technology to Renesas' latest microcontroller (MCU), the RA8P1. This achievement serves as another testament to Nota's advanced AI technology, built upon Renesas hardware. This DMS solution, which efficiently supports advanced vehicle safety features, will be officially provided to clients and partners starting in July, with extensive expansion anticipated in various embedded AI fields such as transportation, public safety, and industrial monitoring in the future. Through close collaboration with Renesas, Nota plans to accelerate the commercialization of embedded AI and focus on generating tangible industrial results. Nota is further solidifying its leadership in the edge AI market through active global business expansion, including recent preliminary review applications for KOSDAQ listing, strengthening global partnerships with companies like Wind River and DeepX, and signing an ITS solution supply contract with the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in the UAE. Building upon this collaboration, both companies plan to open new horizons for embedded AI technology and continuously introduce innovative solutions.
