New Paradigm Investment, an accelerator specializing in startup scale-up, has partnered with Samil PwC, a global accounting and consulting firm, to fully support startups' strategic growth through mergers and acquisitions (M&A). The two companies recently successfully held an 'M&A Seminar for Startups' Strategic Growth' and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).
Through this agreement, New Paradigm Investment and Samil PwC will provide integrated solutions to startups, including M&A advisory, accounting and tax professional services, and investment attraction linkage, and plan to support startups in various ways to enable them to grow rapidly and secure global competitiveness in a rapidly changing market environment.
The seminar was held amidst keen interest from stakeholders in the startup and venture ecosystem. In Part 1, M&A experts from Samil PwC, Korea Technology Finance Corporation, Korea Credit Guarantee Fund, and others shared in-depth insights into practical applications and institutional utilization strategies, enhancing attendees' understanding. Particularly in Part 2, real M&A success stories of New Paradigm Investment's portfolio companies, Asweemake and Neptune, were introduced, drawing significant attention. Asweemake achieved explosive growth in the digital transformation (DT) sector for food ingredient marts through a series of acquisitions, and Neptune presented diverse growth possibilities for startups through M&A-based exits.
Park Je-hyun, Co-CEO of New Paradigm Investment, emphasized, "M&A is a powerful strategic tool that allows startups to leap forward as 'game changers' in the market, going beyond mere external expansion to secure global competitiveness, preempt core technologies, and pioneer new markets," and expressed his ambition to create a new growth myth through the expertise and synergy with Samil PwC.
Meanwhile, New Paradigm Investment invested a total of 6 billion KRW in 14 startups throughout 2024, and three of these portfolio companies, including Asweemake, are recording rapid growth, each attracting over 10 billion KRW in follow-on investments. Furthermore, the company was recently selected as the final General Partner (GP) for the '2025 Fund of Funds' in the early-stage small-scale startup sector, solidifying its recognized capabilities in supporting startup growth. This collaboration with Samil PwC is expected to further strengthen their support capabilities and infuse new vitality into the startup ecosystem.
