Travel super app MyRealTrip has achieved its first annual profit since its establishment, setting a new milestone in the domestic travel platform market. In 2024, it recorded 89.2 billion won in revenue and 130 million won in operating profit, showing an astonishing recovery with revenue surging by 67.2 billion won and operating profit by over 27.7 billion won within two years.
MyRealTrip, which suffered significant operating losses during the COVID-19 pandemic (a loss of 27.6 billion won in 2022), successfully turned to profit thanks to the dramatic recovery in overseas travel demand and innovative operational efficiency achieved through the adoption of AI technology. While steadily growing its core business centered on tours and activities, it also pursued a strategy to maximize profits by expanding its product categories to include flights, accommodation, MyPack, and more.
In particular, the AI technology introduced last year significantly contributed to productivity improvement and cost reduction through automated customer service and optimized work processes. This created a synergistic effect of increased revenue alongside reduced fixed costs, accelerating financial improvement.
MyRealTrip currently stands as a leading domestic travel platform, boasting 9 million cumulative subscribers and 4 million monthly active users (MAU). It has reduced its reliance on external advertising and built a virtuous cycle centered on repeat visits and repurchases. Through the 'MyRealTrip Marketing Partner' program, it has successfully established a creator-based, self-sustaining marketing model. This program recorded 83.4 billion won in transaction volume in 2024, achieving more than tenfold growth compared to the previous year.
CEO Lee Dong-geon described this profit as "a significant milestone that proves the sustainability and profit structure of the platform model," and stated, "We will enhance internal efficiency and provide customers with better travel experiences through continuous investment in AI technology." The AI-based 24-hour customer service system has already proven its effectiveness, having received the highest score in the travel and accommodation platform sector in a consumer satisfaction survey by the Seoul E-commerce Center.
