Meisa Wins Minister of Interior and Safety Award at 2025 Urban Innovation Awards
Maesa, an AI company specializing in drone and satellite-based spatial analysis, was awarded the Minister of Interior and Safety Award at the '2025 Korea Urban & Regional Innovation Awards'. This recognition is a result of its ground subsidence management solution, utilizing InSAR (Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar) technology, contributing to urban safety and disaster prevention, and acknowledging its innovativeness in disaster prevention and infrastructure safety management. Maesa's core solution precisely monitors displacement in urban areas and soft ground every 12 days using satellite imagery. This enables pre-evaluation of safety for planned infrastructure construction sites such as railways and roads, and effective identification and management of areas at risk of sinkholes and ground cracks. When applied in the field, it is expected to yield various benefits, including strengthening disaster response capabilities for local governments and public institutions, reducing maintenance costs, and ensuring the safety of urban development. In particular, InSAR analysis in actual sinkhole-affected areas successfully verified ground subsidence patterns prior to their occurrence, demonstrating the technology's field applicability and high predictive accuracy. Na Bo-yeop, Director at Maesa, expressed his pleasure, stating, "We are delighted to receive official recognition for the potential of our satellite data processing and ground subsidence management technology," and added, "We will continue to advance our technology to create substantial value in urban safety and disaster prevention." Meanwhile, the '2025 Korea Urban & Regional Innovation Industry Expo', which serves as the backdrop for this award, will be held from September 24th to 27th, hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, and Samcheok City. It is expected to be a platform for sharing innovative cases in areas such as smart cities and climate response.
