Jeju Megaplan Selected as 'Outstanding Company' at National Ocean and Fisheries Demo Day… Proving the Prowess of Jeju's Marine Startups Jeju marine startup 'Megaplan' has achieved brilliant results on the national stage. On the 12th, at the '2025 Ocean and Fisheries Accelerating Program Integrated Demo Day' held in Seoul, Megaplan, fostered by the Jeju Creative Economy Innovation Center (hereinafter Jeju Center), achieved the remarkable feat of being finally selected as an 'Outstanding Company' among 12 promising startups nationwide. This is the most prestigious startup event in the domestic ocean and fisheries sector, hosted by the Korea Institute of Marine Science & Technology Promotion and the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries. Megaplan showcased its innovative artificial spawning-based 'mackerel smart aquaculture solution' and was recognized for its unique technology and excellent market potential. Following its 'Grand Prize' win at the Jeju regional demo day, and also by being selected as an 'Outstanding Company' at this national demo day, it once again proved its excellence. Jeju Center discovered Megaplan through its own accelerating program 'Ocean-Value Up' and has actively supported its business enhancement, expert mentoring, commercialization funding, as well as investment attraction through the 'Jeju Early Startup Incubation Fund'. At this integrated demo day, Megaplan and Tobus, companies nurtured by Jeju Center, participated as representatives of Jeju, alongside 6 accelerators nationwide. At the event on that day, 10 other companies nurtured by Jeju Center also operated exhibition booths, introducing their technologies and products, showcasing the capabilities of Jeju's marine startups. Jeju Center, based on the support from the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries and Jeju Province, has been leading the discovery and growth of Jeju's ocean and fisheries startups as a local dedicated institution for two consecutive years, and stated that it will continue to provide systematic support for technological advancement and global expansion. A bright future for Jeju's marine startups is anticipated.
