Medisby's 'ROBOARM' Rehabilitation Robot: Efficacy and Efficiency Confirmed in Clinical Trials
Medisvi, a company specializing in medical physical AI, recently opened new horizons in the medical rehabilitation field by unveiling groundbreaking clinical research results for its upper and lower limb rehabilitation robot, ‘ROBOARM’, at the 'CAOS Asia-Pacific 2025' international academic conference. In this study, conducted on patients with limited range of motion (ROM), ROBOARM restored three types of joint ROM with just a single treatment, showing a remarkable effect of improving the average ROM by approximately 20 degrees. This proves its potential to significantly contribute to improving patients' quality of life. Furthermore, efficiency in the medical field has been innovatively enhanced. The labor time for medical staff involved in repetitive rehabilitation tasks has been drastically reduced from approximately 30 minutes per session to less than 5 minutes, which is expected to help alleviate staffing shortages and improve the quality of medical services. Treatment safety has also been verified, and the AI-based intuitive treatment path input feature supports medical staff in easily setting up customized treatment plans for patients. Medisvi, co-founded in 2024 by AI experts from Severance Hospital and Yonsei University, is leading 'All-in-One' rehabilitation robot technology, encompassing both upper and lower limbs, and 'Physical AI'-based treatment path automation technology. Im Jun-yeol, CEO of Medisvi, stated, "ROBOARM precisely implements the expertise of therapists, securing both treatment effectiveness and safety simultaneously," adding, "We will propose a future clinical model where medical staff and robots function complementarily." Meanwhile, Medisvi has been consecutively selected for NVIDIA's 'NVIDIA Inception' and the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' 'Deep Tech TIPS', and is expected to accelerate the R&D and domestic and international market expansion of its medical physical AI solutions.
