## MakinaRocks Accelerates Entry into Japan's Manufacturing AI Market with Tokyo Office Opening
MakinaRocks, an AI-based industrial solutions company, has officially opened its local office in Tokyo, Japan, marking its full-scale entry into the rapidly growing Japanese manufacturing AI market. On the 14th, over 30 representatives from related organizations such as the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and Kiraboshi Bank, as well as major Japanese manufacturing companies including Hitachi, KDDI, Movensys, and Fujikoshi, attended the opening ceremony held in Toranomon, Tokyo, demonstrating keen interest in MakinaRocks' entry into the Japanese market.
Japan's government is actively fostering the AI industry as a national strategy and attracting global companies. Traditional manufacturing companies are showing strong enthusiasm for AI investment, with Toyota Motor and NTT announcing a 500 billion yen investment in AI software R&D, and Hitachi's corporate value surging due to its expansion in the AI sector. Within this market environment, MakinaRocks established a local subsidiary with the support of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and appointed Youngshin Hur, Chief Business Officer (CBO) who previously worked at Accenture and IBM, as the head of its Japanese subsidiary, adding expertise to its operations.
MakinaRocks aims to penetrate the Japanese manufacturing market, leveraging its experience in commercializing over 5,000 industry-specific AI models and its enterprise AI platform, 'Runway'. 'Runway' is a powerful platform that supports the easy development and operation of AI models optimized for large-scale production facilities, including anomaly detection, optimization, industrial LLM, and machine vision.
In particular, the company plans to focus on the 'enterprise-customized generative AI market,' which is expected to grow to approximately 28 trillion Korean Won by 2025. MakinaRocks aims to secure competitiveness by rapidly providing innovative solutions already validated in Korean manufacturing sites, such as intelligent information retrieval, PLC code analysis and generation, and PCB design automation, tailored to the Japanese market.
Seongho Yoon, CEO of MakinaRocks, stated, "Unlike domestic companies that focus on language model development and fine-tuning, Japanese companies are emphasizing the building and expansion of platform-based customized solutions." He added, "MakinaRocks' 'compound AI' technology, which rapidly provides industry-specific AI solutions based on its AI platform, will make us an irreplaceable AI partner for Japanese manufacturing companies." With the opening of its Tokyo office, MakinaRocks is expected to establish itself as a key partner driving the digital transformation of Japan's manufacturing industry.
