Maepsi Honored with Second Innovation Award at CES 2026
Mapsea won the 'CES 2026' Innovation Award in the Enterprise Tech category for two consecutive years, solidifying South Korea's global leadership in maritime technology. Mapsea's world-class maritime big data and AI-based digital twin navigation technology has received international recognition as a B2B solution that innovates safety, environment, and operational efficiency in the maritime industry. This award is attributed to Mapsea's unique capability to integrate and analyze 150 billion pieces of vast data collected from 2.6 million ships worldwide, combining RTK (Real-Time Kinematic) and HFD (High-Frequency Data) technologies. Based on this data, Mapsea precisely analyzes ship location, routes, weather, currents, engine, and fuel consumption data in real-time across global waters. Notably, features such as Arctic navigation charts, optimal route derivation, and navigation simulation reflecting ice conditions and weather changes support stable and precise decision-making even on polar routes, demonstrating technological excellence. Mapsea's AI digital twin navigation platform integrates collision prevention, multi-event detection, and automatic alarm systems to significantly reduce human error, which accounts for 75% of marine accidents. Furthermore, by analyzing optimal routes, it reduces fuel consumption by up to 15% and contributes to environmental protection by providing a data-driven monitoring system that responds to international carbon regulations such as the European ETS (Emissions Trading System). Actual feedback from shipping companies indicates that monitoring efficiency has improved 24-fold compared to existing methods, demonstrating Mapsea's innovative role in simultaneously enhancing safety and efficiency in the maritime industry. Mapsea obtained AIP technology certification from Korean Register (KR) and secured global technological reliability by forming the first official partnership with RightShip in Korea. Winning the AI category at the 'PIER71 Smart Port Challenge 2024,' organized by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) and NUS Enterprise, served as another testament to Mapsea's excellent technological prowess on the international stage. Kim Ji-soo, CEO of Mapsea, stated, "Winning the CES Innovation Award for two consecutive years signifies that South Korean maritime technology has been recognized in the global market with our digital twin technology extended to polar operations," adding, "We will continue to grow as a first mover leading the digital transformation of the global maritime industry, including Arctic routes, through the convergence of AI and data." Mapsea plans to further strengthen its cooperation with the global maritime technology ecosystem as an official partner of ZEBOX, the global accelerator of France's CMA CGM Group, and an exhibitor at the CES 2026 Eureka Park booth.
