Liner, which is shaking up the global AI search market, has appointed Kim Sung-kyum, co-founder of Blind, as its 'Head of Growth,' adding powerful momentum to its global expansion strategy. Kim will spearhead Liner's global user base expansion and advanced business strategy. Kim Sung-kyum served as the Head of Sales Support at TMON before co-founding the anonymous community platform 'Blind' in 2014. For approximately 10 years, as CBO (Chief Business Officer), he successfully led global marketing and overall business operations. Notably, from 2014 to 2023, he was based in the U.S., leading Blind's successful establishment in the North American market and user expansion, marking a significant chapter in the success story of Korean startups expanding overseas. His deep understanding of the U.S. market and proven business expansion experience are considered key drivers that will further strengthen Liner's global competitiveness. His joining Liner is not a coincidence. Kim, who had been collaborating with Liner as an external advisor for strategy and marketing since November 2023, decided to officially join, confident in Liner's unique technology and global market potential. Liner is experiencing rapid growth in the global AI search market, led by the U.S. Over 95% of its total users come from overseas, including the U.S., Canada, and Europe. In 'The Top 100 Gen AI Consumer Apps' selected by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), the world's largest venture capital firm, Liner achieved the remarkable feat of ranking second globally in the AI search sector. Amidst this growth, the appointment of Kim, who understands the U.S. market better than anyone, is expected to play a crucial role in completing Liner's global business strategy. Kim is currently executing localized strategies from Liner's U.S. branch in San Francisco, serving as a forward operating base for global growth. Kim Sung-kyum stated, “While advising numerous startups, I deeply resonated with Liner's outstanding technology and execution capabilities, as well as CEO Jinwoo Kim's vision to dominate the global AI search market.” He expressed his ambition, “I will contribute comprehensively, from strategy formulation to execution, to help Liner accelerate its leap on the world stage.” Jinwoo Kim, CEO of Liner, said, “I am delighted that a talent who has directly proven their performance in the global market has joined as a core driving force.” He emphasized, “Kim's joining will be an important milestone for Liner as it moves forward to become a leading global AI search company.” Leveraging Kim's arrival, Liner plans to accelerate its expansion into the U.S. market and actively pursue strategic campaigns and partnerships to enhance global brand awareness and expand its user base. Recently, Mallika Nalani from Oracle and Mark Muldoon from Snap joined the U.S. branch in strategic partnership positions, further strengthening the capabilities of the local team.
