Idus, the heart of the domestic handmade market, is continuously achieving remarkable results, thereby further solidifying its position. Idus, Korea's largest handmade platform operated by Backpacker, recently surpassed 20 million app downloads, showcasing its overwhelming presence. Having steadily grown for 11 years since its launch in 2014, Idus has set astonishing records, including an accumulated transaction value of 1.36 trillion won, 36 million orders, and 16,200 creators joining the platform, and has truly become synonymous with the domestic handmade market. In particular, it has demonstrated rapid growth by adding 8 million downloads in the past five years alone, and through the launch of its global version in 2023, it is delivering the charm of K-craft to over 50,000 international users across 138 countries. The core of its growth engine is the paid membership 'd+' (DeePlus) launched last June. Recording an astonishing average monthly growth rate of 20%, it has secured over 95,000 members as of last month, establishing itself as a key contributor that drives 30% of total revenue. Kim Dong-hwan, CEO of Backpacker, emphasized, "Idus has evolved beyond a simple shopping platform into a community platform that connects and expands the domestic handmade ecosystem," and pledged continuous efforts to raise awareness of the handmade market. Idus, which showcases a diverse range of works from ceramics, leather, metal, and glass crafts to accessories, fashion, interior items, and handmade food products, has captivated the majority of female users in their 20s and 30s, and is gaining prominence as a representative lifestyle platform for the MZ generation. Idus provides comprehensive support for creators, including education, photography, and promotion, and offers a platform for direct communication between creators and consumers, thereby delivering a differentiated experience. To date, 1.782 billion won has been paid out in creator sponsorship funds, and the most popular creator boasts 82,800 fans. Through such remarkable growth and innovation, Idus is leading the future of the domestic handmade market and solidifying its unrivaled position.
