The increase in traffic accidents involving elderly drivers is one of the serious problems our society faces. However, simply requiring license surrender based on age is neither efficient nor humane. Against this backdrop, Carvi, a company specializing in AI vision solutions, introduced its 'Elderly Driver Safe Driving Solution,' presenting a new solution.
Carvi's solution precisely analyzes elderly drivers' actual driving habits and reaction speeds to hazardous situations using AI to objectively evaluate their driving ability. Its core feature is identifying potential risks based on real driving data and providing personalized reports, instead of judging driving solely by age. This contributes to accurately identifying high-risk groups for accidents and, if necessary, establishing a reasonable basis for license surrender.
Drivers can check their safety score daily via the app and receive specific feedback on how to drive more safely in various situations. This provides elderly drivers with an opportunity to prove they are safe drivers themselves, and furthermore, to recognize and actively improve hazardous driving habits.
Furthermore, it performs a very important function in the event of an accident. Video footage and precise location information at the time of the accident are sent in real-time via SMS text message to pre-designated family members or contacts, such as children, helping facilitate swift situation assessment and follow-up actions.
Lee Eun-soo, CEO of Carvi, emphasizes that the ultimate goal of this solution is not to revoke licenses, but to identify high-risk drivers through objective data and encourage safe driving, thereby reducing traffic accidents across society. Carvi, having already been recognized for its technological prowess by acquiring GS Certification Grade 1 for its 'Intelligent Mobility Service Platform,' will continue to advance its AI vision technology to contribute to creating an even safer transportation environment. This is regarded as an innovative attempt that will provide safer roads not only for elderly drivers but for everyone.
