Jeonnam Launches Investment Drive for 8 AI Agriculture Startups

The Jeonnam Information & Culture Industry Promotion Agency successfully hosted the 'AI Convergence Intelligent Agriculture Ecosystem Establishment Project IR Demoday & Investment Consultation' in Yeosu on the 30th. This event showcased the innovative technologies of 8 local agricultural startups and was an important occasion to seek investment and explore opportunities for global market entry. With support from the Ministry of Science and ICT, this project, advancing for five years from 2024 to 2028, is leading AI-based agricultural innovation with joint participation from the Jeollanam-do Agricultural Research & Extension Services, the Promotion Agency, and Jeonnam Technopark. On the demoday stage, 8 startups including Begins, ASquare, Turbine Crew, HueinTech, TevaX, CoteGreen, SchoolMoa, and Cornerstone presented. They presented advanced technologies such as AI drone path optimization, open-field fruit tree smart farms, autonomous harvesting robots, and smart fertilizer platforms, presenting a vision for future agriculture and drawing the attention of investors. Five leading domestic venture capital firms and accelerators, including Blue Ocean Ventures and Startup X, participated as judges, conducted 1:1 customized consultations with each company, and reviewed the potential for active follow-up investments. The Promotion Agency will select three outstanding companies among those that presented and provide them with the opportunity to attend 'Agri Technica 2025', the world's largest agricultural fair held in Hanover, Germany, this November. Through global network connections, including meetings with local investors, it plans to actively support their entry into overseas markets. An official from the Promotion Agency stated, "The convergence of AI and agriculture is a key area driving future agricultural innovation. Through this demoday, we will provide full support to ensure that Jeonnam-based startups can secure competitiveness on the global stage." This project, with a total budget of 41.4 billion won, is set to accelerate the establishment of an AI-converged intelligent agricultural ecosystem in the Honam region over the next five years.
